When I look at this painting, I think of transformation. No work of art is born complete, just as no person reveals their true self to the world straight away. We pass through darkness, through understatements, through chaotic layers, only to reveal what matters most at the very end.

 

The canvas has now reached its new home with @dimipainter. He knew this landscape only in outline from an early stage when it was still a promise. So the delivery brought with it a quiet surprise.

 

For him, it is an abandoned place somewhere in the far north… harsh, dark, and yet bringing a strange, deep sense of peace.

 

It is a fascinating paradox of the human soul. We seek solace in the shadows, and in the harsh, cool expanse we find a safe haven. As an artist, I must sometimes yield to the paint, let it crack and set in its own way, for it is not I who impose meaning it is the painting that ultimately decides what truth it will tell the person who looks at it.
