Persona (~30x40 cm) is a deeply personal, raw exploration of identity, masks, and transition. Painted at the very edge of the shifting year, this self-portrait features a serene figure emerging from a dense, chaotic, and shadowed rorschach-like vortex.

 

The physical soul of this piece lies in its unique, entirely handcrafted foundation. The artist constructed the wooden support from raw hardwood, wrapping it in dark, organic textures of black merino wool. This rich, tactile textile base absorbs light and creates a unique playground for the layered acrylics. It acts as a visual bridge between the past and the future a symbolic process of letting the old year dissolve so that an authentic, inner truth can finally be born.
